This is a material we use at least once a week on some project or another. In addition to the photo on this page, you can see its many applications on the Gallery and Custom Work pages of our site. It is a very good approximation of its period counterpart which was folded to bind cut edges on garments, bed hangings & counterpanes, sewing & fashion accessories, etc. It was also sewn flat to ornament upholstery and furnishings and attached to form ties for closures on a wide variety of period items. The fiber in this tape is long and slightly lustrous and dyes beautifully with vegetable dyes. We routinely dye it for our own work and will dye it to order for your project.
