It is a very good approximation of its period counterpart which was folded to bind cut edges on garments, bed hangings & counterpanes, sewing & fashion accessories, etc. It was also sewn flat to ornament upholstery and furnishings and attached to form ties for closures on a wide variety of period items. The fiber in this tape is long and slightly lustrous and dyes beautifully with vegetable dyes. We routinely dye it for our own work and will dye it to order for your project. The colors listed in the drop down menu are our most popular and ones that we often have on hand.
